Great Pyramids

(also called the Giza necropolis) in Egypt is home to the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx.

The Great Pyramid and the Pyramid of Khafre are the largest pyramids built in ancient Egypt, and they have historically been common as emblems of Ancient Egypt in the Western imagination. They were popularised in Hellenistic times when the Great Pyramid was listed by Antipater of Sidon as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is by far the oldest of the Ancient Wonders and the only one still in existence.

The Great Sphinx lies on the east side of the complex. The current consensus among Egyptologists is that the head of the Great Sphinx is Khafre. Along with these major monuments are a number of smaller satellite edifices, known as “queens” pyramids, causeways, and temples

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

(NMEC) is a large museum (490,000 square meters (5,300,000 sq ft) ) in the ancient city of Fustat, now part of Cairo, Egypt. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi officially inaugurated the museum on 3 April 2021, after it partially opened in 2017. He moved 22 mummies, including 18 kings and four queens, from the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo to the new museum, in an event called the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade. The museum displays a collection of 50,000 artifacts, presenting the Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day.
